Sport With A Purpose

Artisan's founder Rob is heading to Malawi to take part in the Orbis Challenge as a Team Leader alongside Dame Kelly Holmes — runners tackling demanding trail runs and mountain challenges to raise awareness and funds for community projects in Malawi.

"Sport with a Purpose" extends athletic competition beyond physical fitness, using events and prominent figures to raise awareness of important issues while promoting mental health, global consciousness and community engagement.

The Orbis Challenge began in 2018, created by Kate and Dom Webb of the Responsible Safari Company in Malawi. This year's event covers three trails: the traditional 25-kilometre Porter's Race, a 20-kilometre forest trail, and a 20-kilometre lakeside run, with rest days spent learning about the community projects the challenge supports.

This year's fundraising goal is £10,000 for Open Arms Malawi to combat child malnutrition, which accounts for 23% of child deaths in the country — enough to feed 550 children for twelve months.
